Unilever reports higher revenue and profit, maintains 2025 outlook

British consumer goods giant Unilever posted higher profit and revenue in the first half of this year and is maintaining its outlook for all of 2025. The company, known for brands such as Knorr, Dove, Vaseline, and Rexona, is on track to spin off its ice cream division, which includes Magnum, Cornetto, and Ben & Jerry’s, by mid-November.

Unilever recorded revenue of 30.1 billion euros in the first half of the year, a 3.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The growth was mainly driven by price increases, which the company is still careful with implementing, CEO Fernando Fernandez said. “Price increases are always a last resort.”

The company’s operating profit came in at 5.8 billion euros, slightly above analysts’ expectations. The company saw particularly strong sales in personal care products, such as Dove soap.

“Our performance in the first half of the year provides a solid foundation for the full year. In the second half, we expect further acceleration in emerging markets, particularly in Asia, and continued growth in developed markets,” said Fernandez

The company is maintaining its full-year outlook, which is the expectation that revenue will grow by 3 to 5 percent. Growth in the second half of the year is projected to outpace that of the first half, “despite weak market conditions,” the CEO said.

According to Fernandez, the growth will be supported by “continued strength in developed markets and improved performance in emerging markets, particularly in India, Indonesia, and China.”

Earlier, it was announced that Unilever’s ice cream division, The Magnum Ice Cream Company, will receive its own stock market listing in Amsterdam. According to Unilever, this process is on track to be completed by November. Unilever will retain a 20 percent stake in the company.
