Dutch DJ Eelke Kleijn releases 5th album "Connected" with Amsterdam live show
After two decades in the music industry, Dutch DJ Eelke Kleijn is releasing his fifth album, Connected, on Friday. The release coincides with a live show at Amsterdam's Paradiso, promising a unique experience for fans as Kleijn enters a new career phase.
The album is the Rotterdam-based artist's first full studio effort since 2020's Oscillations. Friday's live show at Paradiso will mark a significant departure for Kleijn, known primarily for his DJ sets, and not only will the music be a combination of his established melodic sound with a more indie and electronic-oriented style.
This performance will see him bring his music to life on stage for the first time, supported by Corren Cavini and Mitch de Klein. The audience will be brought into an immersive atmosphere with dynamic projections of light and fabric to create a visual spectacle, his representative told NL Times.
Reflecting on this new chapter, Kleijn expressed his anticipation for sharing the deeper meanings behind his music. The journey leading up to Connected and the Paradiso show was also chronicled in a short documentary, also titled Connected. "I look forward immensely to sharing a piece of my thoughts behind the album," he said in a statement. "And to show what it's like on the road and during shows."
The Connected album itself is meant to showcase Kleijn's evolution as a producer and musician. While his early work leaned towards progressive house with influences of disco and trance, this fifth album ventures into a more indie-electronic territory. Beyond his club-focused work, Kleijn has also established himself as a composer for film, television, games, and commercials, and film trailers.
