Investigation clears suspended NSC treasurer of fraud allegations
An external investigation has cleared the Nationalist Social Coalition (NSC) of any financial misconduct, following allegations involving the party’s suspended treasurer. The investigation, initiated after reports of potential fraud surfaced, found no evidence of wrongdoing in the party’s financial records, according to RTL.
The NSC reportedly hired an independent forensic accounting firm to examine its financial records from the past several months. The investigation concluded that the party’s accounting practices were sound and no irregularities were detected.
“We’re pleased that the investigation is complete and that no fraud was found,” said Kilian Wawoe, NSC’s chairman. “I’m relieved that this unpleasant situation is now resolved.”
The allegations of financial misconduct had caused significant internal disruption within the party, leading to the treasurer’s suspension late last year. Several complaints had been allegedly filed regarding the treasurer’s behavior and his interactions with other members, prompting the party to suspend him.
In response, the treasurer claimed he had raised concerns about financial irregularities, including duplicate invoices, which he said were not well-received. He described his removal as “threatening” when speaking to RTL at the time.
