Multiple events across the Netherlands for U.S. presidential election tonight

The U.S. presidential election will be closely followed across the Netherlands on Tuesday night and Wednesday monring, with various events planned around the country. In The Hague, Nieuwspoort is holding an election event organized by Haagsch College and BNR Nieuwsradio, with a lineup of politicians and experts, including U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands, Shefali Razdan Duggal.

In Amsterdam, campaign bureau BKB is hosting "President’s Night" at the Tolhuistuin, featuring a program spread across five rooms with nearly 80 speakers and around 1,300 attendees. Among the prominent figures at the Tolhuistuin event is former politician and ex-NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. Dutch politicians like Eric van der Burg (VVD), Jan Paternotte (D66), and Kati Piri (GroenLinks-PvdA) will discuss the U.S. election campaign.

At 1 a.m., a "Big Results Show" will feature insights from correspondents and experts from both the U.S. and the Netherlands.

Comedy club Boom Chicago, also in the capital, is continuing its tradition of hosting an Election Night event, "U.S. Election Night," which will feature a comedy show and live election results displayed on large screens. The theater is co-hosting the event with Democrats Abroad.

The night kicks off with the comedy show "Pep and Greg Politically Incorrect." Attendees can follow the election results on large screens until 5 a.m., with the night concluding with breakfast.

Meanwhile, in Groningen, the Forum is hosting an election night in collaboration with several student associations. In addition to election results, the event will include a pub quiz, an American-style fair, and fitness activities to help attendees stay awake through the night.
