Witnesses sought in assault on Johan Cruyff Boulevard

A 56-year-old man was severely assaulted on Saturday night, November 2, shortly after the Ajax-PSV soccer match. Dispatch records indicate that an ambulance was sent to the scene at exactly 9 p.m. The victim suffered a serious head injury, rendering him unconscious as he fell to the ground. Local police have initiated an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred as the man was walking along Johan Cruyff Boulevard near the Decathlon store, which was crowded with fans celebrating Ajax’s recent victory. Although the atmosphere was festive, the situation escalated quickly and violently. Eyewitness accounts are needed to clarify the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after the assault, providing urgent medical assistance before transporting the man to the hospital. His current condition remains critical. Authorities are working diligently to piece together the events leading up to the assault.

Community cooperation is vital and the police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information related to the attack to contact them.
