Get married on the A10 ring road during Amsterdam's 750th birthday celebrations

Amsterdam is offering local couples looking to get married in an out-of-the-ordinary location a unique opportunity. Tie the knot on the A10 ring road while the piece of highway is closed for the city’s 750th anniversary festival on Saturday, 21 June 2025.

Interested couples can sign up here. The city will designate part of the A10 Ring as an official wedding location for the occasion. The ceremonies will be provided free of charge by municipal registrars in Dutch or English.

Couples can expect “a festive wedding location with space for their guests,” the city said.

If there is more interest than the day can accommodate, a notary will draw lots for the couples and the municipality will announce the results early next year.

On Saturday, 21 June 2025, Amsterdam will close 15 kilometers of the A10 Ring for a festival to celebrate the city’s 750th anniversary. The festival will include “music, sports, theater, dance, and much more,” the city said.
