Trains to London and Paris will depart from Amsterdam Centraal again in 2025

Trains to London and Paris will be able to depart from Amsterdam Centraal again next year. The large-scale construction of the terminal at the station is almost completed.

Eurostar was very concerned about the progress of the renovation of Amsterdam Central Station. CEO Gwendoline Cazenave even threatened to stop all trains from traveling to Paris and London if the terminal was not finished on time.

According to an NS spokesperson, construction is going as scheduled. Therefore, the terminal at Amsterdam Centraal will be finished on the scheduled date, which is December.

The number of Dutch travelers by train to foreign countries is increasing. The number even rose by 38 percent to London in the last year. The number of travelers is expected to increase further when the platform is finished.

Last year, 4.2 million passengers traveled with Eurostar between the Netherlands and France, the United Kingdom, and Belgium. Due to the renovation at Amsterdam Centraal, travelers to London have to change trains in Brussels. Eurostar CEO Cazenave was also concerned about the length of the platforms in Amsterdam. They are 200 meters long, while Eurostar trains are 400 meters long, which has consequences for the service to London and the train to Paris.
