Ajax-Utrecht match that was canceled due to police strikes rescheduled for December

The match between Ajax and FC Utrecht, which was canceled due to police strikes, will be played on Wednesday, December 4, according to the Amsterdam club. The kick-off will be at the Johan Cruijff ArenA at 8 p.m.

Ajax’s home match with FC Utrecht was initially scheduled for Sunday, September 15, but it was canceled due to a police strike for an earlier retirement scheme. The Amsterdam authorities said that the safety of the players, supporters, and public order in the city could not be guaranteed without the police presence.

The match between Feyenoord and Ajax in Rotterdam on September 1 was also canceled for this reason. The grudge match nicknamed the Klassieker will now be played on Wednesday, October 30.

FC Utrecht have made a good start to their Eredivisie season under manager Ron Jans. The club is currently third in the league table with 13 points. Ajax have played a match less than Utrecht and are currently ninth with seven points.

The Amsterdammers travel away to RKC Waalwijk this weekend, and Utrecht is also playing away in Alkmaar against AZ.
