Man wants to be arrested and smashes windows of three police cars

A 41-year-old man was arrested on Friday night after he smashed the windows of three police cars in Tilburg. The reason for the vandalism was that he wanted to be arrested, the police reported.

Late Friday night, officers responded to a report of vandalism on Spoorlaan. A man had smashed a window of a building there. The perpetrator waited for the police, confessed, and asked to be arrested. But the officers only took down his details and told him to leave.

A few hours later, shortly after 4 a.m., officers working at the police station on Stationsstraat heard loud bangs outside. It turned out that the windows of three police cars had been smashed. The man from Friday night was sitting between the cars with his hands behind his neck. This time, the police arrested the 41-year-old.

The police could not find out why he wanted to go to prison. According to the police, the man has no fixed address or residence.
