Rowers' success puts Netherlands in top 10 for Olympic medals

On the sixth day of the Olympic Games in Paris, the Netherlands entered the top ten in the medal rankings thanks to two medals won in rowing and one in swimming. TeamNL will have several chances to climb in the rankings on Friday, NOS reports.

On Thursday, the women's four won gold on the rowing course of Vaires-sur-Marne, and the men’s double sculls won silver. Swimmer Tes Schouten won bronze in the 200 meter breaststroke in the La Défense Arena.

TeamNL now has six medals—two gold, two silver, and two bronze—putting the Netherlands in tenth place in the ranking, tied with Germany.

China leads the ranking with 11 gold, seven silver, and six bronze medals, followed by the United States (9-15-13) and host country France (8-11-8).

On Friday, TeamNL athletes have chances at medals in tennis, judo, sailing, equestrian, sports, BMX, and rowing.
