Four Dutch stabbed in brawl with Irish tourists in Portugeuese seaside resort
Four Dutch tourists were injured in a fight and stabbing incident in the seaside resort of Albufeira in Portugal. Their current condition is unknown, though at least one reportedly sustained serious injuries.
The Irish Mirror reported that the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Monday morning. Police sources told the newspaper that the Irish tourists complained about the loud music from an apartment below them, where a group of Dutch people were staying. The situation escalated into a fight, and both groups pulled knives, according to the newspaper’s sources.
The Irish newspaper wrote that five people got hurt. One Dutch person is in critical condition. Those involved are reportedly between the ages of 17 and 21 years old, and people in both groups got hurt.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told RTL Nieuws that it received requests for consular assistance for four injured Dutch people. The Ministry would not comment on their ages or the circumstances of their injuries.
