Rail works: Fewer and very crowded trains around Summer Carnival in Rotterdam
The construction on the train tracks between Den Haag HS and Schiedam Centrum is going slower than planned; therefore, there will be no trains there until Monday morning, ProRail reported.
It was already announced that there would be no trains between The Hague and Rotterdam from July 13 to July 26 because of construction. Still, it now appears that train traffic can only be started on time between Schiedam and Rotterdam. The NS, therefore, expects "heavy crowds" on Saturday when the Summer Carnival takes place in Rotterdam.
The NS advises people between Rotterdam and The Hague to travel via Gouda or choose a different type of transport. They are also warning for business in the Rotterdam subway. The construction delays can also affect stations in the nearby area; the NS advises travelers to check the trip planner before leaving their houses.
