Many festivals to show Netherlands-Turkey Euro match Saturday; Big screen in Westerpark

Various Dutch festivals will show the quarter-final between the Netherlands and Turkey at Euro 2024 on Saturday. Down the Rabbit Hole, Stereo Sunday, and Breda Live are among the festivals that will show the match on big screens at 9 p.m., organizers told ANP. In addition to the festivals, Amsterdam gave permission for a big screen to be set up at the Westerpark.

Visitors of Down the Rabbit Hole in Beuningen can watch the match on a screen of eight by four meters. "The screen is next to the Surf Shack," said the organization. "Other matches will not be shown." Earlier in the evening, at 6 p.m., England face Switzerland in the other quarter-final. One of those two countries will face the winner of the match between the Netherlands and Turkey.

The match can also be seen on a big screen at the Chasséveld in Breda. However, the sound will not be turned on, and the line-up and regular schedule of the festival Breda Live will remain intact. Artists like André Hazes, Claude, Raccoon, and Mart Hoogkamer are set to perform.

Football fans will also be able to follow the match in full a little further on at the festival WiSH Outdoor in Beek and Donk. "We will broadcast the quarter-final LARGELY in our indoor mainstage: The Grand Theater and on Central Square (with commentary)," the organization said.

Festival Stereo Sunday in Venlo will have one big screen where festival goers can watch the match. They are allowed to wear a football shirt to the festival, but only one of the Netherlands. "Turkish guests are very welcome, just not in a Turkey shirt," a spokesperson said. According to Stereo Sunday's house rules, no football shirts are allowed at all, but the Dutch festival will make an exception on Saturday for Oranje.

The organizations are not expecting trouble between Dutch and Turkish football fans at the festival. They added that they have not had any signals or indication from the authorities that they should expect problems.

The screen in Westerpark will be erected on the Klönneplein. The screen has been arranged by the Westergasterras, a restaurant in the park that also showed the other Oranje matches on its terrace. "But from the quarter-final onwards, we are allowed to use the whole Klönneplein from the municipality," the restaurant said.

The screen will also be much larger. At the previous matches, they used a screen of 15 square meters. Now, the organization has arranged for a screen of 30 square meters in size.

Tickets to watch Oranje vs. Turkey at the location on Klönneplein will go on sale on Thursday at 2 p.m.
