Uncertainty remains over Transavia flights scheduled during the summer months

Although the problems with Transavia's fleet have mainly been solved, the airline company cannot rule out more flight cancellations during the next few busy summer holiday months. "The maintenance problems and the changes we have made to the flight schedule seem to be under control, but you can never be 100 percent certain. Disappointment can always happen," said a spokesperson.

Transavia announced earlier this year that they were adapting their flight schedule, mainly due to maintenance delays. This affected an unknown number of flights until the end of June.

Several flights also had to be canceled due to various problems with the fleet. There was insufficient capacity to replace the aircraft taken out of service.

According to the spokesperson, supply chain issues have not yet been resolved. "If a plane were to break down, it would take longer to repair it because we do not have the parts. The supply chains are still in a mess because of the coronavirus," the spokesperson added.

Other airline companies are also experiencing issues regarding this. Due to the maintenance delay, Transavia has "cut back" on its flexibility.

"But we have been successful lately in getting everyone onto a flight when we made a change. We were able to rebook for most people, although we had to disappoint some people while doing so," said the spokesperson.
