Unvaccinated feeling more negative as Covid infections soar

Now that coronavirus cases are rising sharply, 40 percent of unvaccinated people indicate that they are doing worse. That percentage is significantly higher than among vaccinated persons, 24 percent of whom said they've started feeling mentally less well in the past month, EenVandaag reports based on its own research. Unvaccinated also feel lonelier due to the coronavirus measures and discussions about vaccination.

After introducing the coronavirus access pass, 29 percent of unvaccinated people say they see fewer people. Arguments or disagreements about vaccinations cause them to avoid or be shunned by acquaintances. According to the current affairs program, 31,158 members of the EenVandaag Opinion Panel participated in the study, including 2,536 who indicated that they had not been vaccinated.

According to EenVandaag, three groups can be distinguished among the unvaccinated who differ enormously in terms of personal characteristics, their attitude to life, and, above all, the extent to which there is still a chance that they will be vaccinated.

The largest group is the principled unvaccinated. They have a strong sense of distrust of the government and pharmaceutical companies and have no intention to get vaccinated. They are also against any form of coronavirus measure, did not vote at all, or voted for Forum voor Democratie. The second group is the substantive doubter. These people have doubts about the vaccine's effectiveness and are afraid of side effects. And the last group is made up of pragmatic procrastinators. They haven't gotten around to getting a shot yet.
