Man found dead in Maastricht home, injured woman hospitalized

A man was found dead in his home in Maastricht on Wednesday night. His wife was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, the police said in a statement.

The police responded to the home on Meendal at around 11:00 p.m. after a report that the body of the resident had been found. At the scene responding officers found that the man was indeed dead.

Exactly what happened is not yet clear. The police don't rule out a crime.

The extent of the woman's injuries, and how she sustained them, is also unclear.

The police are investigating.
