Ticketmaster must refund service charges for cancelled events: Consumer group

Ticketmaster must refund its service charges to consumers if the event they bought tickets fo gets canceled, according to the Consumentenbond. The consumers' association wants to meet with Ticketmaster to arrange this, RTL Nieuws reports.

People who buy tickets for concerts or other events through Ticketmaster always pay service charges. These costs vary per event, ranging from 2 euros to over 10 euros, according to the broadcaster. If an event is canceled, the price of the ticket is usually refunded. But Ticketmaster keeps the service charges. That must change, according to Consumentenbond.

The Dutch authority on consumers and markets ACM also believes that service charges must be reimbursed if an event is canceled.

Consumentenbond hopes to meet with Ticketmaster so that they can "come to a solution".
