Suspects released in rapper's murder; Perpetrator at large

Police have released six of the seven suspects taken into custody after the shooting death of rapper Faisal Mssyeh. Better known as Feis Ecktuh, or just "Feis", the 32-year-old was gunned down in Rotterdam early in the morning on New Year's Day.

His 31-year-old brother received a life-threatening injury during the shooting. Both victims were taken to an area hospital shortly after the incident.

Police have received several tips and photos from witnesses, but say they still need more help. They asked anyone with photos or videos from the scene, or any other relevant information to contact them directly.

The suspect still in custody was cleared of involvement in Mssyeh's death. He will appear in court on Friday for possession of a firearm, police said.

Mssyeh released two solo albums in 2014, and an EP the following year. He worked with Amsterdam-based record label Top Notch, whose team was shocked by his death.

The death is "a loss for Dutch hip-hop," radio DJ Giel Beelen said.
