Two victims in Enschede deaths previously arrested for drugs

Two of the four men who were found killed in a business premises in Enschede on Tuesday were arrested in June after a large amount of cannabis was found in the same building, the police confirmed. The police believe that all four men were shot to death, NU.nl reports.

The victims were identified as a 43-year-old man from Enschede, a 34-year-old man from Hengelo, a 27-year-old man from Hengelo, and 62-year-old man from Arnhem.

The police responded to the building on Van Leeuwenhoekstraat at around 3;00 p.m. on Tuesday after a report that two bodies had been found in the building. When officers arrived they found four bodies in the building. The police believe they were shot to death shortly before the report came in, and not during the early hours of Tuesday morning as local residents told RTV Oost.

In June the police found 17 kilograms of dried cannabis in the same building. At the same time two cannabis farms were rolled up elsewhere in the city. The 43-year-old and 34 year old men were arrested at the time. They were later released to await their trial.

The police can not yet say anything about the background of Tuesday's incident. The investigation is ongoing.

A grow shop selling equipment and raw materials for cannabis cultivation is located in the building, according to the newspaper. Officially the company there was registered as selling gardening supplies.
