Computer-run cannabis farm found in Sint Willebrord

The police discovered a very professional, computer-run cannabis farm in a shed near a home on Dorpstraat in Sint Willebrord late on Wednesday afternoon. The cannabis farm had capacity for 1,400 plants, the police said in a statement.

The cannabis farm was discovered during searches the police and the municipality of Rucphen did in buildings in Sprundel, Rucphen and Sint Willebrord, following multiple MMA reports from citizens. In one room of the shed 850 mature, harvest-ready cannabis plants were found. A second room contained 580 bins ready for planting.

"What is special is that the farm is computer controlled with the aid of five opticlimats", the police said. "These ensure that the plants can grow under optimal conditions." Humans are only needed for watering and harvesting.

The power used for the cannabis farm was taken illegally, so the cannabis farm owners will also be charged with theft. So far no arrests were made. The farm is being clear and the police are investigating who it belonged to.
