Four swans found killed in Hague park

Over the past weeks four swans were found killed in Zuiderpark in The Hague, the police said on Facebook. They're necks were broken. Several swan nests and the eggs in them were also destroyed.

The Zuiderpar police report that the remaining swan nests have now been screened off with fencing as a precaution. The police, along with enforcers and foresters, are also patrolling the area and keeping an eye on the nests.

According to Omroep West, this is not the first time vandals destroyed natural elements in the park. In February a number of beehives were damaged, killing the bee colony. Plants and flowers were also set on fire, and deer habitats were demolished.
