Mistakes made in railway construction near Kampen
Errors were made in the construction of rail lines near Kampen - the foundation is not stable enough for the fast electric trains intended to use the line. As a result, the planned opening of the new Zwolle Stadshagen train station on Sunday, has been postponed, ProRail announced according to RTL Nieuws.
The rail line between Kampen and Zwolle, the shortest railway line in the Netherlands, had a complete revamp to prepare it for the new electric trains. The foundation problems were only noticed when the new trains drove on the railway at 140 kilometers per hour for the first time.
ProRail is now investigating exactly where it went wrong.
