Crane driver hurt after crashing into Tilburg rail bridge

A crane hit a railway bridge on Bosscheweg in Tilburg on Monday morning, causing train delays between Tilburg and Den Bosch throughout the day. The crane driver, a 35-year-old from Riel, injured his neck and was taken to hospital for examination, Eindhovens Dagblad reports.

The collision damaged the bridge to such an extent that NS decided to close one of the two tracks running over the bridge. Trains can use the other track across the bridge, but only at a reduced speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

An employee of engineering company Movares is on the way to inspect the damage to the bridge.
