Anne Faber murder suspect to stay in custody another 90 days

The court remanded Michael P. into custody for another 90 days on Thursday. The Zeewolde man is suspected of involvement in the murder of 25-year-old Anne Faber from Utrecht. According to the court, there is currently not enough evidence to keep P. in custody for more than three months, NU.nl reports.

Faber left her home in Rijnsweerd, Utrecht to go cycling on Friday, September 29th. She never returned home. Her body was found in Zeewolde on Thursday, October 12th. How she died was not announced. P. is in restricted custody, which means he is not allowed contact with anyone except his lawyer and investigators. It also means that the authorities can't release much information on the case.

P. was arrested on suspicion of involvement in Faber's disappearance on October 9th. He is now suspected of involvement in her murder.

Michael P. is serving a 12 year long prison sentence for raping two teenage girls in 2010. He was in an Altrecht psychiatric institution in Den Dolder at the time of Anne Faber's disappearance. He was transferred to the institution to start preparing him for a gradual return to society.
