Two new searches launched for missing Utrecht woman

The police supported two new searches for missing Anne Faber from Utrecht in Baarn on Monday afternoon. The searches focused on the areas around Soestdijk Palace and around Hilversumsestraatweg, NU.nl reports.

Friends and family members of Faber gathered to search for the 25-year-old woman, who disappeared while cycling in stormy weather around 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The police traced a selfie she sent to her boyfriend shortly before she disappeared to Baarn.

On Twitter the Utrecht police announced that several items were found during the search. The police are investigating where these items came from. According to newspaper AD, one of the items found was a bicycle wheel.

A police team also searched Baarn on Sunday, using a police helicopter with thermal imaging equipment, but no trace of the young woman was found.
