Reduced visibility due to thick fog

Road users in the center and south of the Netherlands, will need to take reduced visibility due to thick fog into account when taking the road on Wednesday morning. Visibility may be reduced to less than 200 meters in some places, according to the code yellow weather warning meteorological institute KNMI issued.

"Dangerous driving conditions due to poor visibility", the KNMI warns. Motorists are advised to reduce their speed and keep a safe following distance. "Fog can be treacherous due to sudden onset. Follow weather reports and warnings."

The fog will dissipate during the course of the morning. The rest of the day will be mostly sunny, with a small chance of showers in the northeast of the country. Afternoon temperatures will range from 18 degrees Celsius in the north to 21 degrees in the south.

From Thursday the cloud cover will increase and there will be more chance of rain. Maximum temperatures will drop steadily each day, to around 16 degrees this weekend.
