Hague murder solved; perpetrator also deceased

The police solved the murder of a 60-year-old man, who was found beaten to death in a parking garage in The Hague earlier this month, thanks to a DNA match. The perpetrator is a 20-year-old man from The Hague, who died shortly after the murder, AD reports.

The victim's body was found in a parking garage on Rubensstraat in the Schilderswijk neighborhood on August 13th. The police quickly concluded that he was murdered - he was beaten to death with a heavy object. Police officers questioned witnesses, checked surveillance camera footage in the area and tested bloody clothes found in a nearby container.

The investigation led the police to a 20-year-old man from The Hague. He died the night after the murder by falling off a roof on the corner of Vlamingstraat and Schoolstraat. The police believe he may have been trying to jump from one roof to another when he fell.

At the moment the police can see no connection between the 60-year-old victim and his 20-year-old murderer. The current theory is that it was a random attack. The police are still investigating the perpetrator's background.
