Toddler's collarbone broken in hit-and-run

A boy of almost 2 broke his collarbone and sustained head injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Drunen on Wednesday evening, the Telegraaf reports.

The toddler was playing outside on Johann Straussstraat when he was hit by a car. The driver sped away, but returned to the scene of the accident about half an hour later. The 54-year-old man was arrested and his car was seized.

How the accident happened is still unclear, but the police did say that the man was not under the influence of alcohol.

The little boy will have to spend a few days in the hospital.
