Crowded Amsterdam to entice tourists to visit Den Haag

Amsterdam and Schiphol airport will soon be home to screens and billboards showing various attractions in The Hague. The two cities teamed up for a campaign to tempt tourists into visiting The Hague, instead of spending all their time in crowded Amsterdam. The campaign's motto is capital city to court city, ANP reports.

Amsterdam is traditionally very popular with tourists, and tourist numbers are expected to only increase in the coming years. And while this is great for the economy and employment, it also affects Amsterdam residents.

In an effort to ease the pressure on the Dutch capital, the city and Schiphol airport will start advertising the attractions of The Hague. In that city visitors can enjoy the Scheveningen beach, the Mauritshuis, Madurodam and the Peace Palace in the international zone.

The Hague will pay Amsterdam Marketing 150 thousand euros for this campaign over the next three years.
