Dutch rail manager warns of dangers involved in taking selfies on train tracks

Rail manager ProRail noticed an increasing trend of young people taking selfies and photos on train tracks. This is not only life-threateningly dangerous, but also causes delays in train traffic, ProRail said to AD.

"When ProRail is notified that people are illegally on the track, all drivers on that route are instructed to continue very slowly", according to ProRai. "Our report center also calls in the police to get these people off the track." Despite these measures, ProRail can not guarantee that you will not be hit by a train while taking pictures on the track, seriously injuring or even killing yourself and traumatizing train driver and passengers.

ProRail is making contact with people who post photos on train tracks online. "They are then removed", a spokesperson said to AD.
