Christian party treasurer still in custody after massive drug lab bust

Former CDA treasurer in Leende Wim van der P. was remanded into custody for at least another month by the court in Den Bosch on Thursday. He is suspected of involvement in a massive drug lab found in a building on his property last month, the Telegraaf reports.

The drug lab was discovered on February 23rd. The police described it as a professional drug lab and one of the largest ever broken up in the Netherlands. Before the police dismantled it, the lab could produce 100 kilos of speed and 150 kilos of ecstasy per day, according ot the police.

The 51-year-old former CDA treasurer owns the building the lab was found in and lives on the same property. He was released along with his wife and son, though those two have already been released from custody.

Van der P. claims that he had no idea about the drug lab. He rented the building out.
