Psych ward patient stabs clinic staffer; Victim in critical cond.

An employee at psychiatric institution De Kijvelanden in Portugaal is in critical condition after a patient attacked him on Friday, ANP reports.

The employee was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Security and Justice confirmed to NU.nl.

Eyewitnesses told ANP that the man attacked several employees. The Ministry could not confirm this.

A SWAT team removed the man from the ward where the incident happened. It is unclear whether he was arrested. The police are investigating what happened.
