Gelderland cop jailed for sexually abusing boy, 12

A Gelderland police officer was sentenced to three years in prison for sexually abusing a then 12-year-old boy and for making and possessing child pornography. The 49-year-old man's 41-year-old partner received the same sentence, but with one year conditionally suspended, Omroep Gelderland reports. According to the Prosecutor, the two men from Lathum, near Zevenaar had sex with the boy, both together and individually, between June 2013 and June 2015. The child was 12 years old when it started. The perpetrators were close friends with the boy's parents and he regularly stayed at the couple's home. The sentence corresponds to what the prosecutor demanded. The men are also banned from coming near the boy's house for 6 months, they must pay 8,400 euros in compensation and undergo treatment.
