Bodies found in Amstelveen home identified
The police managed to identify two people found dead in a home on Mr Bardeslaan in Amstelveen on Sunday night. The victims are a 31-year-old woman from Groningen and a 22-year-old man from Amstelveen.
Autopsies will be done on the bodies to determine exactly how they died. Their bodies were discovered when the police responded to the home around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday after reports that someone was ill.
The initial thought was that they died of carbon monoxide poisoning, but firefighters found not trace of carbon monoxide at the scene. Local residents told RTV Noord-Holland that the victims were two young men, age 20 and 21 years, who died of a drug overdose. This also does not seem to be the case.
According to Dagblad van het Noorden, the female victim's name is Femke van der Kooi. It is unclear what the Groningen woman was doing in Amstelveen.
