Prison time demanded against 1st suspect in massive drug bust

The first suspect in a massive drug crime investigation in Southern Netherlands, so called operation Trefpunt, appeared in the court in Den Bosch on Monday. The Public Prosecutor demanded 21 months in prison, seven of which conditionally suspended, against suspect Frans R., ANP reports The 53-year-old man from Best had 37.7 kilograms of cannabis and a loaded gun in his home when the police arrested him. R. was also seen entering party rental store Party King in Best - the central location where criminals met to discuss cooperation and other deals - and several conversations he had there were bugged and recorded. A total of 56 people were arrested in 125 addresses in Southern Netherlands were raided in a massive police action in this investigation early in April.
