Rain hits southern Netherlands on Saturday, mild weather ahead

This morning, rain fell across the southern provinces of Noord-Brabant and Limburg, moving from west to east, while central and northern areas stayed mostly dry with occasional sunshine. Temperatures reached around 10 degrees in many locations by late morning, weeronline reports.

This afternoon, clouds will dominate much of the country, with occasional sunny breaks in the north. Light drizzle may occur in the east, but most regions are expected to remain dry. Winds will be moderate from the southwest, with highs ranging from 9 degrees in the north to 12 degrees in Brabant and Limburg.

Tonight, a large rain system moving in from the North Sea will bring heavy showers across much of the Netherlands. Precipitation will taper off overnight as the system moves into Germany. Despite stronger southwest winds, temperatures will remain mild, staying above 10 degrees in many areas.

Sunday will continue to be wet and mild. A large rain system will sweep the country from the west in the morning, with the heaviest rainfall in the south. Afternoon highs will range from 8 to 12 degrees, with moderate to fresh southwest winds of 3 to 5 Bft. Rain will gradually move eastward by mid-afternoon, allowing conditions to dry, and coastal areas may see some sun.

Monday will be variable, with scattered showers across the country. Dry periods will dominate, and sunny breaks are expected. Temperatures will reach 9 to 10 degrees along the north coast, about 12 degrees in central regions, and around 13 degrees in the south. Southwest winds will remain moderate to fairly strong.

Tuesday will see clouds, scattered showers, and occasional sunny periods, especially in the afternoon. Southerly winds will bring warmer air, with temperatures climbing to 10 to locally 16 degrees, creating early spring-like conditions.

By Wednesday, sunny spells and highs of 13 to 19 degrees could make it an unusually warm day for the season, particularly in the south. Temperatures will remain mild in the following days, consistently above 10 degrees, with a slight chance of showers but no heavy rain expected.
