Dutch city's tourist ban in coffeeshops bearing fruit

Since Sittard-Geleen implemented a residents-only policy in the city's coffeeshops, Belgian drug tourists are increasingly avoiding these businesses. "The drug tourism decreased considerably", Mayor Sjraar Cox said to 1Limburg. It is unclear where these drug tourists moved to. When Maastricht banned tourists from its coffeeshops, they moved to Sittard-Geleen. The number of street drug dealers did increase at the start of this month, according to the Limburg media. Extra police officers are being deployed to keep dealers from the streets.
