Baby found dead, hidden in Amsterdam bushes

The body of a baby was discovered hidden in some bushes on the East bank of the Sloterplas in Amsterdam on Wednesday night, the police reported on Twitter. According to Het Parool, the gruesome discovery was made by a passerby, who alerted the police around 7:30 p.m. The police launched a comprehensive investigation, including a forensic investigation for trace evidence. An autopsy will be done on the newborn's body in the coming days to determine the cause of death. The gender of the baby was not revealed.
