Tennis star Robin Haase struggling with businessman's murder, coach's arrest

The murder of business man Koen Everink had a big impact on Dutch tennis player Robin Haase, especially given that his former coach Mark de J. is the prime suspect. "Mentally this past few weeks and months was not great for me. It remains a very unpleasant and difficult period", the tennis player said to the Telegraaf. Tennis enthusiast Everink and Haase spent quite a bit of time together. The 29-year-old is regularly confronted with the murder case. "Before my match I was asked about it again, and you have to answer", he said to the newspaper shortly after a narrow loss against Jack Sock in the first round of the Roland Garros. Haase fell 2-0 behind in sets, fought back to 202, but had to capitulate 3-6, 5-7, 6-3, 2-6. Haase is counting on the support of those around him. "I looked for people I trust. In recent weeks, several people supported me, including my father. It's nice to have peace of mind in that area and that you don't have to stress about that too."
