Netherlands investing billions to fix rail, roads

The Dutch government plans to reserve an additional 10 billion euros for two years for improving the roads and railway in the Netherlands. The money will be used to push the most urgent projects forward and for new projects, sources told Dutch newspaper AD. The money will be put into the infrastructure fun, from which all projects related to national roads, rail and water are paid. This extra money can be used to plan new road projects up until 2030 and considerably accelerate existing contracts. The current plan is to put between 5.5 billion and 6.5 billion per year into the fund up until 2028. That money is already reserved for management and maintenance projects however.
