Dutch increasingly buying from foreign online stores

Dutch consumers spent more than half a billion euros on purchases from foreign online stores, a third more than in 2014. Chinese online stores are particularly popular, accounting for a quarter of the spending, according to figures collected by market researcher GfK and PostNL, ANP reports Foreign online retailers accounted for 3 percent of the total online spending last year. Consumers in the Netherlands spent a total of 513 million euros at foreign online stores. 23 percent of Dutch aged 15 years and older made at least one purchase on a foreign online store last year. Dutch consumers spent the most money in online stores from China, Germany, Britain and the United States.
