Wilders supporter’s Anti-Islam hate speech acquittal appealed

The Public Prosecutor decided to turn to the Supreme Court to appeal against the Amsterdam court's decision to acquit a 37-year-old PVV supporter of insulting Arabs because of their race, ANP reports. In a 2010 documentary about PVV leader Geert Wilders, titled Wilders the Movie, the man called Arabs "raging ass slammers" who "fuck little boys". The Prosecutor demanded he pay a fine of 500 euros. But the court decided to acquit him on appeal. According to the court, the comments were made in the context of a public debate - he was interviewed just before an anti-Islam demonstration. "In this context, the statements are admissible and the man did not incite hatred, violence, discrimination or intolerance", according to the court.
