Man imprisoned for stuffing killed wife in suitcase

A 54 year old man from Aachen, Germany was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison on Wednesday. He was found guilty of killing his wife, stuffing her body in a suitcase and dumping it in a river in Maastricht last year, AD reports. The punishment is lower than the 12 years the German Public Prosecutor demanded. K. strangled his wife during an argument. According to the court, he tried to resuscitate her, but without success. He then put her body in a suitcase and later threw it in the Meuse in Maastricht. The body was discovered a few days later, in August last year. The suspect was arrested a couple of days after the discovery. According to the court, K. showed that he regrets what he did. "The worst thing is that my wife died because of me", he said.
