Five more top UK fugitives said to be hiding in the Netherlands

The United Kingdom authorities added another five British fugitives to the list of criminals believed to be hiding in the Netherlands. These five criminals are wanted for serious crimes ranging from drug possession to murder. The criminals are being sought under Operation Return, a multi-agency operation involving Dutch authorities, Crimestoppers and Britain's National Crime Agency. This is the fourth Operation Return appeal to be made. In the previous three 10 of the 14 fugitives were arrested. The remaining four are still on the list. Over the past five years 101 British fugitives were caught in the Netherlands as part of various operations - 23 last year, 15 in 2014, 18 in 2013, 20 in 2012 and 25 in 2011. New on the list are Shazad Ghafoor, a 29 year old British-Pakastani wanted for fraud, dangerous driving, possession of criminal property and possession of drugs with the intent to supply. David Riccio, a 24 year old Brit wanted for murder, attempted assault and conspiracy to supply heroin. David John Walley, a 40 year old from Manchester, wanted for importation of class A drugs and possession of a false identity. Shane O'Brien, a 28 year old man from London, wanted for murder. And Ahmed Omer, a 45 year old Brit wanted for conspiracy to supply ampthetamine, cannabis ad cannabis resin. The four fugitives still on the Operation Return list are Michal Moogan, Robert Gerrard, Rezgar Zengana and Mark Liscott. Their crimes, descriptions and photos can be seen here. "The NCA and its partners will pursue fugitives relentlessly. In the last five years, over 100 fugitives linked to Operation Return and other operations have been arrested in the Netherlands and brought back to the UK to face justice" Dave Allen, head of international crime at the NCA said. "Those who believe they can use the Netherlands to evade capture or continue illegal activities soon find out that it is not a safe haven."
