Tilburg police hunt suspect after wheelchair-bound man is stabbed
The police are hunting a suspect that stabbed a wheelchair-bound man in the shoulder on Verdiplein in Tilburg on Wednesday.
According to the police, the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. The suspect punched and stabbed his victim, who was sitting on his mobility scooter. The man fled when bystanders shouted at him to stop. A verbal argument preceded the stabbing.
The police searched the area, but found no trace of the suspect. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The suspect is a dark skinned man with short dark hair and glasses. He is about 1.75 to 1.80 meters tall. At the time of the attack he was wearing a beige or grey winter coat with a hood, dark trousers and a beige or white shirt. He had a woolen hat on his head and black shoes with white soles and stripes on his feet.
Burgernet also spread the description around. This resulted in a number of tips, but so far none of these led to an arrest.
