Baltimore man in court for molesting dazed KLM passenger

Prosecutors in the Netherlands called for a 71-year-old Indian man to serve 50 days in jail, of which 32 would be suspended, for allegedly molesting a female passenger onboard a KLM flight. The court heard the case against the man on Monday. He is accused of rubbing and licking the Danish woman’s bare back while she was impaired after taking a sleeping pill. Initially, investigators accused the man, identified only as R. M., of grabbing the woman underneath her clothes and penetrating her with his fingers. When the groggy victim resisted, R.M. allegedly threatened her with physical violence, according to newspaper AD. She was sitting in a window seat, with the suspect making it difficult for her to escape the man. The court previously threw out the more serious charges of sexual assault due to a lack of evidence. The incident took place on October 12 during a flight from Washington D.C. to Amsterdam. The suspect lives in Baltimore, Maryland, about an hour drive from Dulles International Airport, where KLM flies their route to the Netherlands. Should he be convicted, the man could likely escape further jail time as he already was held in custody for 18 days following his arrest.
