MC Escher museum planning move into U.S. Embassy in Hague

The municipality of The Hague plans to move the MC Escher museum into the United States embassy building in the center of the city. The remaining space will be used to house a hotel, the Telegraaf reports. The U.S. embassy will be moving to a site in Wassenaar in 2017, after which the current embassy building will be empty. The municipality investigated several options and concluded that converting the building into a museum and hotel is the best option. The MC Escher museum is currently located in the Palace Lange Voorhout, about 100 meters away from the embassy building. After the move another museum will likely be moved into the Palace. According to the newspaper, the municipality wants to create museum district in the area to attract more tourists.
