Amsterdam dance event shooting suspect identified as Surailie I., 33

The suspect arrested early this month in connection with the 2013 assassination of Amsterdam criminal Souhail Laachir at the Waterfront dance event in the Scheepvaartmuseum, was identified as 33 year old Antillean Surailie I., Het Parool reports. According to the newspaper, the police considered I. a suspect in this assassination for years, but only managed to track him down after he was arrested in Amsterdam on suspicion of money laundering. Souhail Laachir was assassinated on May 25th amidst the dancing crowd. According to the Telegraaf, two rival criminal gangs ran into each other at the party. One group consisted followers of career criminal Gwenette Martha, who was assassinated in 2014. The other group was friends of archival Benaouf A.. Laachir was affiliated with Benaouf A., I. was affiliated with Martha. The two groups got into a fight at the bar and it ended with Laachir being gunned down.
