Dutch runner Yvonne Hak feels robbed by Russian doping allegation

Yvonne Hak, the 29 year old Dutch runner, is left feeling robbed after the revelation that her silver medal in the 2010 European Championships 800 meter should have been gold. Gold medal winner, Russian Mariya Savinova, has been accused of doping during the competition. On Monday anti-doping Agency WADA announced that the Russian runner was emphatically associated with doping. WADA has recommended to the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) that a lifelong ban be implemented against the Russian athlete, NOS reports “I was so happy with silver. It was an amazing tournament and an amazing experience, because I was so happy." the Dutch athlete commented. "But it could have been gold. How nice would that have been." British athlete Jenny Meadows, who won bronze in the race, expressed similar sentiments on Twitter. "Always suspected but finally confirmation that the Russian Athletics Federation have denied me the finest moments of my career", she tweeted.
