Air France-KLM served 7 million passengers last month

Air France KLM saw an increase in passengers in October. A total of 7 million travelers reached destinations through the airline partnership, 1.5 percent more than in the same month last year. The airline partnership released these figures on Monday, adding that the increase in passengers was very necessary as ticket prices are still under pressure, Het Parool reports. According to Air France-KLM, there was an 2.6 percent increase in demand last month, well above the 0.9 percent increase in capacity. The average occupancy rate - which measures the efficiency in aviation - increased by 1.4 percent to 86.1 percent. Ticket sales to far-away destinations increased in particular. The number of passengers traveling in Europe remained virtually the same. Subsidiary Transavia also saw an increase in passengers. The budget airline transported 1.1 million passengers in October, an increase of almost 12 percent compared to the same month last year. The growth can largely be attributed o the French branch, which saw a 42 percent increase in the number of passenger. The average occupancy rate for Transavia dropped by 0.7 percent to 90.1 percent.
